Connecting Transit

From Durham Region, you can connect to destinations in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), Ontario, and Canada. DRT offers seamless connections to neighbouring transit systems including GO Transit, York Region Transit (YRT), the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), and VIA Rail.

GTHA Transit Agencies

GO Transit

You can connect to GO Train Lakeshore East services with DRT at several locations:

Ajax Station
Oshawa Station
Pickering Station
Whitby Station

Various GO Bus routes link Durham Region to Toronto, York Region, and Peterborough.

When transferring between GO Transit and DRT, remember that you're eligible for a reduced DRT fare. For more information on Co-Fare, visit our Fares page.

TTC

You can connect to TTC services with DRT at several locations in Toronto.

Kingston Road and Sheppard Avenue/Port Union Road

Travel wholly within the City of Toronto is not permitted on DRT.

YRT

You can connect to YRT Mobility-on-Request in Mount Albert.

DRT fares on YRT

Valid DRT transfers are accepted everywhere on YRT
YRT transfers will not be issued. You are required to pay YRT fare on your return trip
DRT fare using PRESTO card e-purse or DRT monthly pass is valid, provided your card was tapped in Durham. A DRT monthly pass on a PRESTO card will allow you to continue travelling and transferring within York Region (as long as the transfer is within two hours of the original tap). You'll need to pay appropriate YRT fare on your return trip

YRT Fares on DRT

Valid YRT transfers will be accepted everywhere on DRT

VIA Rail provides intercity rail service from Oshawa Station.
