In accordance with Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA). Condition 6(2)(a), combustion gases generated by the facility must be maintained at a minimum temperature of 1000 degrees Celsius (°C) for a least one second. Compliance with this requirement must be demonstrated on a continuous basis using a method approved by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). The Time and Temperature Protocol developed for the Durham York Energy Centre has been approved by the MECP to demonstrate compliance.
