  • DRT service update following fire at 710 Raleigh Avenue

    Whitby, Ontario – Following a fire at Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) facility in Oshawa on Wednesday, August 16, service updates have been implemented.

    As a result of the fire early Wednesday morning, DRT is currently unable to deliver service from the Raleigh garage in Oshawa.

    Whitby, Ontario – The new Durham Region Transit (DRT) On Demand application (app) will be available to download and use in the coming weeks, as part of DRT’s new trip scheduling platform.

    The new app will be available in the Apple App Store and on Google Play on August 21.

    Whitby, Ontario – DRT On Demand is getting an upgrade. Beginning in September 2023, DRT will be moving to a new system for its On Demand services—providing customers with more tools, including a new DRT On Demand mobile application (app).

    To continue to enhance the value of public transit for customers, Durham Region Transit is advising of a 10-cent base fare increase when paying with PRESTO, effective July 1.

  • Contactless debit card payment now available on Durham Region Transit

    Whitby, Ontario – Following the successful launch of contactless credit card payments in January, Durham Region Transit (DRT) is now pleased to accept contactless debit card payment.

    Customers can pay fare by tapping a PRESTO card, debit card or credit card, including cards linked to smartphones and smartwatches.
